How far into death can sin take us when by birth and by choice, we are already so far away from God?
Just as the gospel of God takes us all the way home to himself, so, too, are the effects of unrepentant sin. Sin, left unchecked, not confessed, not repentant, and not given over to the Lord Jesus Christ, is always a slippery slope into levels of sin you couldn’t possibly imagine–and yet, there you are in the midst of darkness and despair.
Sin does not leave us alone. Sin does not get better on its own. Sin is not neutral. It is always crouching and waiting to devour us. It will consume us. It will destroy us. It will kill us.
